We often hear that people like to be involved with the client from the ground up, setting the initial strategy and tone for the relationship. This role fulfills that need. The Account Director is responsible for developing business opportunities then remaining a part of the account at a higher, strategic level to ensure the needs of the client expressed from day one are not only achieved but exceeded.
What You’ll Do
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Follow up on business leads provided by the CEO and Director of Business Development
- Identify and pursue other potential opportunities for new business
- Document business opportunities and information in CRM tool
- Prepare written proposals that incorporate a high level of strategic thinking and research
- Coordinate involvement of Rebel subject matter experts in the pre-sale process
- Project manage the pre-sale pitch process and pitch presentations
- With assistance from internal team members, prepare pitch decks and other presentation materials
- Schedule and participate in all pre-sale meetings assigned to you
- Maintain constant communication with prospective clients
- Once business is closed:
- In conjunction with Account Executive (where assigned), maintain regular contact with client to ensure client needs are being met and to provide thoughts and strategy relating to growth opportunities
- In conjunction with Account Executive (where assigned), work with Rebel internal teams to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget
- Act as a mentor to the Account Executive, assisting with timelines, project management, and client management as needed
- Ensure deliverables and billings are consistent with contract and client expectations
- Continually provide clients with relevant information relating to their industry or digital marketing topics that may be of interest to them
- Analyze data to report metrics to clients where necessary
- Address client concerns if necessary and know when it is appropriate to escalate issues with proposed solutions to upper management
- Remain current with client industry trends, agency expectations and service offerings and digital marketing developments
Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in developing business strategies that incorporate the following areas: content marketing, social media campaigns, SEO, paid search and paid media campaigns, website builds, video production, web design and email marketing
- Exceptional presentation skills
- Exceptional customer service and listening skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and think strategically on behalf of clients
- Solutions oriented, able to problem solve situations in real time without always requiring escalation to upper management (but understanding when that is needed)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and professionally in person, over the phone/video conference and in writing both with clients and internal teams
- Ability to take a seed of an idea and make it better without significant guidance
- Proven ability to close leads
- Proficiency in preparing proposals and other pre-sale materials
- Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload
- Ability to think and plan ahead
- Ability to distill information quickly and translate into useful information
- Strong experience with MS Office products, including Excel and/or Smartsheets
- Prior marketing agency experience is preferred
- Experience with Google Analytics and Google Data Studio preferred
- Some occasional car travel may be required to visit clients in NY, NJ, and MA (typically no more than 2x/month) and flight travel may also be required (typically only 1-2 days/quarter)
